Eating Disorder Specialist (Adolescent)

We are looking for Eating Disorder Specialist (Adolescent) candidates for a project delivered through micro1.

What you'll do

  • Review and assess adolescent eating disorder cases, providing detailed written evaluations of clinical and medical risks.
  • Apply DSM-5 criteria and validated screening tools (e.g., EDE-Q, SCOFF) to accurately characterize clinical presentations.
  • Determine medical stability and identify cases requiring urgent escalation using recognized frameworks such as MEED.
  • Evaluate appropriateness of treatment modalities (e.g., FBT, CBT-E) in relation to the adolescent’s clinical stage.
  • Identify comorbidities and safeguarding concerns that may influence severity or required intervention.
  • Produce clear, actionable guidance suitable for non-specialists, grounded in current clinical standards and guidelines.
  • Benchmark clinical judgments against peers and established guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.

What you need

  • Active clinical license or registration in good standing.
  • Excellent written English skills (native, or equivalent to IELTS 7.5+/writing 7.0+, TOEFL 100+, Cambridge C1–C2).

Nice to have

  • 3–5+ years post-qualification experience working directly with adolescent patients in a clinical setting.
  • Specialist background in eating disorders, child/adolescent psychiatry or psychology, or adolescent/paediatric medicine with a focus on eating disorders.
  • Recent experience managing an adolescent caseload, or actively practicing within the past two years.
  • Proficiency with evidence-based assessment tools (DSM-5, EDE-Q, SCOFF) and diagnostic frameworks.
  • Familiarity with medical risk assessment protocols (e.g., MEED) and interventions such as FBT or CBT-E.
  • Experience in medical stabilization for adolescents, formal FBT or CBT-E training, or expertise in co-occurring conditions such as self-harm or anxiety.
